Who We Are

Fragile X Hub (fragilexhub.com) is an educational website providing information about Fragile X syndrome, premutation conditions, and related resources. We are not a healthcare provider, medical practice, or covered entity under HIPAA. This site is operated by Bryce in Houston, Texas.

What We Collect

We collect the minimum information necessary to operate this site:

Email address — If you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address. This is the only personal information we actively collect.
First name — Optionally provided during newsletter signup. Not required.
Donation information — If you make a donation, payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe. We do not see, store, or have access to your credit card number, bank account, or other financial details. Stripe provides us only with a confirmation of the donation amount.
Zip code — If you use the provider search feature, the zip code you enter is sent to our server to perform the search. We do not store or log zip codes.

What We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect any health information, medical records, diagnoses, genetic test results, insurance information, or any other Protected Health Information (PHI). We do not use cookies for tracking or advertising. We do not sell, rent, or share your information with advertisers.

How We Use Your Information

Newsletter: Your email address is used solely to send you our biweekly newsletter about Fragile X news, research, and resources.
Provider search: Zip codes are used in real time to find nearby resources and are not stored after the search completes.
Donations: Processed by Stripe. We use donation confirmations only for internal record-keeping.

We use the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:

Beehiiv — Newsletter delivery. Privacy policy

Vercel — Website hosting. Privacy policy
Anthropic — Powers the news feed and provider search features. Search queries (not personal information) are sent to the Anthropic API. Privacy policy

Your Rights

You have the right to:

Unsubscribe — Every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link. One click, immediate removal.
Request deletion — Email bryce@fragilexhub.com to request deletion of any data we hold about you.
Access your data — Email us to request a copy of any personal data we hold (this would be limited to your email address and subscription status).
Correct your data — Contact us to update your email address or any other information.

These rights apply to all users regardless of location, including residents of the European Union (GDPR) and California (CCPA/CPRA).

Children's Privacy

This site is intended for adults — primarily parents, caregivers, and healthcare providers. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at bryce@fragilexhub.com and we will delete it promptly.

Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption, server-side API key management, rate limiting, and security headers. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
